Types of Public Records

The government maintains different records in different categories. The Federal and State governments tabulate and maintain records about persons, companies and practices. These records are available to public by directly connecting to the Government or via numerous sites, which act as information brokers and have data related to individuals. There is a debate related to what records can be termed as public and which information should be kept private.

Because of easy availability of public records, a person’s privacy is under threat. The following types of public records fall in the category of records available to anyone. Few examples are: Driving license and records, motor vehicle registration, law enforcement records, to name a few.

There are certain records, which are termed as personal records, but through availability of other types of public ones; the following information can be collected about an individual: name, age, address, employment, home ownership, home loan, assessed value of loan, automobile loans, driving records etc. If you are using the records for person back-ground checking, finding contacts, property name, or other authentic reasons, then these records come very useful.
