How Does A Criminal Record Impact Us?
Criminal records are not necessarily used for investigation of criminal activities but they are also required for various other reasons. For example, I have seen many institutions requiring such records before an application is processed. Therefore, criminal records directly impact our various activities.
In most of the cases, the individuals who are convicted of frauds may not be given admissions. The candidates who apply for police services or criminology programs are mandatory to submit these records. Many universities require records for admissions in law and medical programs. Similarly, an individual travelling within the state may not need to submit these records but if the person travels outside the state then the other country may or may not demand this record. However, the rules and regulations can vary from state to state. For example, I have noticed that these records are considered very important if you are travelling to United States or Canada. In United States, a traveller from another county has to submit travel waiver which is a documents that allows an individual to travel with the criminal records. In addition, we need these records for various other purposes therefore, they do impact us.
